The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), is a framework that is used with children aged from birth-5 years. It is a play based framework which recognises that every child is unique and focuses on children as individuals.
The EYFS is used to underpin all aspects of your child’s progress and development, and the guidance is also used by staff when planning a balanced range of activities for each individual group and for each individual child.
Observations and learning journeys are completed by your child’s key worker, which build up a picture of the developmental stage your child is at, making it easier for your child’s key worker to notice areas in which your child may need to develop and they also help to identify specific personal interests, as well as the areas your child is competent in.
The EYFS offers children the opportunity to develop at their own pace and offers equal opportunities for all.
